Review: Physician’s Formula Duo Concealer

Shade: Yellow/Neutral
Quality: 7/10
Packaging: 8/10
Overall: 7.5/10
Price: $7-10

Claims:

High-tech, lightweight formula. Hypoallergenic. Non-comedogenic. Fragrance-free. Non-creasing.

  • Laser inscription helps to easily identify which shade corrects and which covers.
  • Cream-to-powder concealer.
  • Lightweight formula hides skin imperfections and smooth out fine lines
  • Contains a color-corrective shade and a flesh-tone shade in one package.
  • Yellow color-corrects under-eye circles and other bluish skin discolorations.
  • Green color-corrects red blemishes and scars.

About:

I got this physician’s formula duo conceal around a year ago and have used it almost every day. I still haven’t hit pan on this. This is definitely lasting me a really long time and it hasn’t dried up yet. So for an economical stand point, this has a decent quality that can last a long time. Great quantity for the price.
So I got this a year ago when I realized that school is making me sleep less and my dark circles are too obvious to ignore. I got this when shoppers was having a sale so it cost me around $7. I got the yellow/neutral shade (that was the only one available at the store I was at) but there is also a green/neutral shade.

Swatch- Bottom: Yellow shade. Top: Neutral shade

This is about the YELLOW side only: I use the yellow side every day to cover up my under eye circles and slightly around my nose area to cover up some of the darkness and redness. It already had a creamy texture when I apply it. It is easy to blend with my foundation brush and doesn’t give a cakey appearance. If you want a creamier texture than putting it under the hairdryer will definitely help it even more. But for me, using it alone works great already.

So why did I give it a 3.5/5 for quality? For some reason the yellow side is WONDERFUL but the neutral side is really bad. The colour of the neutral side is in a specified shade that is for really fair skin. It is definitely hard to match it. I tried applying it under my foundation to make it blend away better, but it still doesn’t work. It also gives off a cakey appearance that the yellow side didn’t. I am wonderful if the two have different formulations and materials. So to sum up, I have tried using this neutral side in many ways and it still is pretty useless. I don’t want to waste the product, but there isn’t anything else I can do with it. Its not sticky enough to be a good base either.

Packaging: It comes with a mini concealer brush. The concealer brush is not good for blending and evening it out. It gives a streaky appearance when using it. I opt to use my posh concealer brush + foundation brush instead. The clear container packaging is really durable and a convenient square size. I dropped it a couple of times and nothing has come off yet, so its pretty durable :P

Overall, I really enjoyed the yellow side of the duo. It is still worth the buy even if I don’t use the neutral side because for $7.. well I’ve used it for almost a year and I’m not even half way done. However, it is a waste and I don’t like wasting anything at all.

Pro:
- Lots of product
- Creamy texture
- Durable and simple packaging

Con:
- Neutral shade side is useless unless you have really fair skin tones
- Bad concealer brush

Purchase again? I may or may not purchase it again. Going to try other concealers first (ex. maybelline age rewind duo conecaler). If nothing is doing well in covering my under eye circles, I will go back to this because this does do a decent job.

Review: Revlon Super Luscious Lip gloss

Shade: Life’s a Peach and Nude Lustre
Packaging: 9/10
Quality: 9/10
Overall: 9/10
Price: Regular Price of ~$8; Cheapest when on sale $3.99

Claims/Product Info:
Silky...Sexy...Brilliant. Glossy formula combines sheer color and intense moisture with light-reflecting spheres to create amazing shine. SPF 15

About:
I don’t have a peachy lipgloss, so I got this on sale for $3.99 at rexall. I have this in Life’s a Peach and Nude Lustre. I realised they are similar shades, but I was in a hurry to go so I just grabbed the two I liked the most and I don’t like experimenting with the darker shades.

Texture wise
: when applying it may feel a little sticky. But I feel like this stickiness isn’t really a yucky feeling, it’s what gives it a longer lasting power. Be careful when applying because you might have too much on the applicator to apply for one use. So be gentle with it in order to get a cleaner and thinner finish.

Packaging. I like things that are black giving it a classic look. The size of it is really small like the size of my phone so it’s easy to carry around in my purse. The tip applicator is slightly angle for an easier application. I really love this product especially in the winter I think. For the summer I rather opt for a product that is less thick and more sheer.
FYI- make sure to check the expiry date in tiny letters at the back of the gloss imprinted on the clear packaging.

Pro:
- Nice packaging
- Long lasting
- Nice selection of colours
- Contains SPF 15

Con:
- Takes up too much product at once
- May feel a little sticky
- Contains slight shimmers

Purchase again? Yes

Terminator Salvation Movie + Mini Haul

This weekend I went out to watch Terminator Salvation. Opening weekend! It was so packed that the original time I wanted to look at was sold out. But thank god they added a new time.
I don't want to ruin it. But to be honest... I am disappointed. I have watched all terminator movies and am a fan of the whole story line. But this movie some how was a little disappointing... I wasn't as excited and didn't have the suspense I was hoping for. Action and graphics was pretty good. Christian Blane was in it but not really the John Cohner personality I envisioned. He is definately more of a Bruce Wayne guy. lol. if that makes any sense. After watching Star Trek I really liked Anton Yelchin. He played a different role this time, as Kyle Reese (John's father). A much more serious role. If they are making more to the terminator series... I really hope they make it better. So far.. summer movies my favourite is still Star Trek a must see!!! :) I have the urge to go watch it again. haha.

I also went and brought a pack of Crest Whitestrips Classic cause it was on sale at Rexall for $19.99 and I used a coupon that
eternalmi gave me that was $7 off. So it was $13, what a steal! Thank you very much! I have to take some time to decide when I want to try them out cause I might go to the dentist for a cleaning soon anyways. The crest whitestrips are on sale this week at Shoppers.

I also went to H&M to get some work cloths. There wasn't any sales going on which was disappointing but I still got two skirts. End of the weekend again. :(

First Blog Post

Hi everyone.
So I decide to start up a blog of my own. This summer I will be having some free time, so I thought it might be a good idea to just share what I know, what I have tried and what I am currently experiencing in regards to anything beauty related. It sounds really fun and hopefully I will be sharing something useful that can help someone out there.
I guess I will just start reviewing products I am currently using or have. I don't buy alot but maybe some haul posts. I also want to post some information about general life, good deals and stuff. I think it'll be a combination of everything. Hope you enjoy!
